MTV Video Music Awards 20162016 "MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS" RIHANNA TO RECEIVE MICHAEL JACKSON VIDEO VANGUARD AWARD

Sunday, August 28 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on MTV

The "MTV Video Music Awards" will bestow Rihanna with its highest honor, the "Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award," for her decade-long impact on music, pop culture, fashion, film and philanthropy. Rihanna will perform during the ceremony LIVE from New York's iconic Madison Square Garden on Sunday, August 28 at 9:00 PM ET/PT.

Two-time VMA "Video of the Year" winner and the youngest solo artist to score 14 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100—the fastest to do so, Rihanna's unparalleled output of hits have spawned some of today's most memorable music videos from "Umbrella" to "We Found Love," "Diamonds" and her most recent collaboration with Drake on "Work." With this honor, Rihanna joins the prestigious list of past Vanguard recipients including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, Guns N' Roses, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, BEYONCÉ and Kanye West.

It is hard to believe that Rihanna is only 28 years old, yet within the 10 years since the start of her musical career, she's sold more than 61 million albums and 215 million tracks worldwide. Rihanna is the "Best Selling Digital Artist of All Time… with more than 100 million [RIAA] Gold & Platinum song certifications" and an eight-time Grammy Award winner who also counts 14 Billboard Music Awards among other countless music accolades. Aside from her musical achievements, Rihanna is bona fide business woman with multiple entrepreneurial ventures. However, most importantly, her undeniable cultural influence has forever imprinted her in history as a Global Icon despite her young age.

With over 81 million Facebook fans, 64 million Twitter and 42 million Instagram followers, Rihanna is putting her influence to good use via additional philanthropic efforts. Chief among these is her own Clara Lionel Foundation. Established in 2012 and named after Rihanna's beloved grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, the foundation works to improve the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, Education, arts and Culture.

MTV TO HELP “RESTORE THE SHORE” WITH ON AIR, ONLINE AND MOBILE FUNDRAISING SPECIAL THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2012

Partnering With Non-Profit Architecture for Humanity, MTV Will Air the One Hour Special Featuring Members of the “Jersey Shore” Cast As Well As Other Special Guests

As part of the effort to help rebuild and restore the Jersey Shore – which was devastated, along with many other coastal areas, by Hurricane Sandy last week - MTV (a division of Viacom Inc., NASDAQ: VIAB) today announced it will produce a one hour fundraising special called “Restore the Shore.” The special will encourage people nationwide to contribute to the rebuilding of Seaside Heights, the heart of the Jersey Shore and home to one of MTV’s most popular shows, “Jersey Shore.”

The special will run LIVE from MTV’s Times Square Studio on Thursday, November 15th at 11pm ET, tape delayed PT on air, online and on mobile and will feature the cast of the “Jersey Shore” along with other special guest appearances to be announced. For this fundraising effort, MTV is partnering with Architecture for Humanity, an internationally recognized non-profit organization that provides design and construction services to communities in need. The organization will create a “Restore the Shore” fund to collect donations that will be principally directed toward the rebuilding of the famed Seaside Heights boardwalk, as well as supporting the re-building efforts of businesses and residents in the community that were so tragically affected by this historic storm. Architecture for Humanity has been helping communities rebuild after natural disasters for more than a decade, including major efforts in Biloxi and New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010. Viewers will be provided with easy-to-use online and mobile giving tools, so people can donate during and well after the MTV special runs on November 15th. Additional details will be announced shortly. http://mtvvideomusicaward.blogspot.com

Comedian Kevin Hart to host MTV Video Music Awards 2012

Nominees Full List 2012 MTV Video Music Awards

Kevin Hart to host VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS

Kevin Hart isn’t just the host of next month’s MTV Video Music Awards, he’s also part of Hollywood’s hottest new couple.

The comedian stars alongside Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in a video posted Wednesday on MTV’s website. Hart tells the pair he’s hosting the VMA show and that paparazzi are trying to get a look at ‘‘the new ‘it’ couple,’’ even though they would actually be a trio. He says, ‘‘I'm talking about Kev-Ye-Kim.’’

The video shows a casually clad Kardashian and West, who is up for two Video Music Awards, lounging on the end of a bed. When West asks what Hart means, he offers other possible couple nicknames, including ‘‘Ye-Kev-Kim’’ and ‘‘Ye-Kim-Kev.’’

The MTV Video Music Awards will be presented Sept. 6th at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

MTV Video Music Awards 2012 To Take Over Staples Center

Show air's live from LA Sept. 6th, at 8 pm ET/PT

MTV Video Music Awards are moving to the home of the Lakers: Staples Center in Los Angeles

Thursday, September 6th, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the 2012 VMAs will take over Staples for the first time. The epicenter of the L.A. sports and entertainment universe is just the latest iconic venue the VMAs have called home, joining a list that includes New York's Radio City Music Hall, the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and American Airlines Arena in Miami.

It's fitting the 2012 VMAs are moving to Staples; after all, they'll need a big house to match the big-time impact of last year's show, which scored MTV's biggest audience in the network's history with a record-breaking 12.4 million viewers and were also the most tweeted-about awards show ever.

But before you get too excited for the VMAs, don't forget the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, airing live Sunday, June 3, from Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Russell Brand — a two-time VMA host — has been tapped to helm this year's Movie Awards.

A gravity-defying P!nk got the party started from a flying trapeze, performing her chart-topping hit “Blow Me (One Last Kiss).” Rising R&B singer-songwriter Frank Ocean took the stage for an intimate performance of his single “Thinking Of You,” off his debut album. Taylor Swift closed out the epic evening with a fun performance of her new smash single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" that brought the entire crowd to their feet. Starting the song in a recording booth, Swift was soon draped by a team of backup dancers as they paraded down the stage with a shower of flower petals raining on the wall of hi-def screens behind them. Lollapalooza lineup shuffled due to big storm

A powerful thunderstorm rumbled into downtown Chicago on Saturday, forcing organizers to suspend the Lollapalooza music festival for more than two hours while the tens of thousands of concertgoers took shelter in parking garages.

The festivities were halted at 3:30 p.m. after the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning because of a line of storms that was barreling down on the city from the west.

Organizers said it was unfortunate, but that safety was paramount. The estimated 100,000 concertgoers took the evacuation order in stride, for the most part, and calmly left Grant Park for nearby underground garages that were designated evacuation centers for the sold-out three-day event, which ends Sunday.

Crowds were allowed back into the venue after the worst of the storm had passed and police and concert organizers had inspected the park for any damage. It was only last summer that storm-driven wind gusts knocked down heavy stage rigging at the state fair in neighboring Indiana, killing seven people and injuring dozens of others.

Organizers posted a reshuffled Saturday lineup that added a half-hour to the night's events, which were scheduled to culminate with the Red Hot Chili Peppers performing on the main stage.

Video Music Awards score biggest audience ever for MTV with more than 12 million viewers

Between Beyonce’s baby bump and Lady Gaga dressed in drag, the Video Music Awards brought MTV its biggest audience in MTV's history

Lady Gaga appeared in drag, and the late British singer Amy Winehouse was remembered in a moving tribute.

MTV, owned by Viacom, said that a record-breaking 12.4 million people viewed Sunday's live performance and awards Broadcast from Los Angeles. MTV said that 8.5 million of those watching Sunday's show were 12-34 year-olds, making it the most watched telecast of all time in that age group.

Last year's MTV Video Music Awards, where Lady Gaga appeared in a dress made of raw meat~drew 11.4 million viewers ~the biggest audience since 2002.

Katy Perry and Adele were the biggest winners, taking home three awards each, but it was Beyonce who was the story of the night. Beyonce stole everyone's thunder by revealing she was pregnant, said Billboard. Entertainment Weekly said the singer's baby bump was the "one defining moment" of the evening.

Other reviewers and online fans highlighted the salute by Bruno Mars, Tony Bennett and Russell Brand to Winehouse, 27, who died of still to be determined causes in London in July, and a simple, effects-free performance by Britain's Adele.

Chris Brown's "career rehab" performance was also a strong moment~The Los Angeles Times.

Lady Gaga Strips Off Her Bra In VMA Promo Video

LADY GAGA STRIPS OFF BRA IN HER 2011 PROMO VIDEO
Lady Gaga will be performing at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards on August 28. But before then, Gaga has yet another big VMA announcement she'll make on MTV during "MTV First: Lady Gaga" tomorrow (August 18) at 7:49 p.m. ET, plus she'll also premiere her new video "Yoü And I."

Gaga's just-released "Yoü And I" video, which took us on a psychological roller coaster ride through the ups and downs of her relationships, showed her in a forest clearing playing a piano topped with her alter ego, Jo Calderone. And in her 2011 MTV VMA promo videos, we also see Lady Gaga behind the piano singing "Yoü And I." Except this time, Lady Gaga and her jazz quartet, set in black and white, rearrange "Yoü And I" into a Beat-era jazzy torch song, followed by Gaga seductively removing her bra, turning "Yoü And I into a coquettish, near-burlesque striptease, ending with Gaga posing in what almost feels like a reference to the classic 1988 L'Instant Taittinger Champagne ad.

Beyonce To Perform at 2011 MTV VMAs! Will Ferrell, Jack Black And More To Present!

Beyoncé, is nominated for three VMA Awards this year -- Best Female Video, Best Choreography, and Best Cinematography -- has not confirmed what song she'll be performing, but I think it's pretty safe to say that there will at least be one sequin involved in the making of her costume.

MTV still appeals to the masses, after 30 years

On Aug. 1st, 1981 The world of cable television gave birth to a new phenomenon that would revolutionize popular culture and the public’s knowledge of music and entertainment. Music Television was about to bring music to television.

Thirty years later, Throughout its three decades of production, MTV has promoted music, introduced the artists behind classic songs, premiered iconic music videos and captured viewers’ interest with reality TV shows.

MTV’s first broadcast images were of the Apollo 11 launch, after the channel’s block letter logo appeared with a guitar riff playing and the announcement, “Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll.” The film of the lunar landing gave way to MTV’s use of the “moon man.”

In the ’80s, MTV’s primary focus was the actual artists and their music, as MTV became the headquarters for the tunes and music videos of stars such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Police and Cyndi Lauper. Music videos, most notably Michael Jackson’s iconic video for “Thriller,” brought a visual aspect to songs and became an MTV staple. The Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star” was the first music video ever played on MTV. Through MTV, artists gained exposure, and viewers could see what their favorite musicians actually looked like.

The MTV Video Music Awards premiered in 1984 at Radio City Music Hall and included a live performance of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin.” Five years later the first edition of MTV Unplugged aired in 1989. In the same year, “Yo! MTV Raps” brought hip-hop and rap music to television

BRUNO MARS, Celeb Presenters Added To VMA Lineup

MTV on Thursday said it has added a new category highlighting social activism to the Video Music Awards Show after seeing an influx of artist exploring self-worth and other issues in their music

The category of "Best Video With a Message" will honor artists and music videos that featured a positive message or raised awareness of key social issues facing today's youth. The awards will be given out at the popular cable TV network's Video Music Awards (VMAs) later this month.

MTV's president Stephen Friedman attributes the creation of the new category to the recent mobilization of celebrities and public figures that have rallied against bullying youths, gay discrimination and promoted self-empowerment.

"During the past year, we've seen a remarkable number of artists use their music to explore deeply personal experiences and issues they were passionate about to create powerful videos that resonated with and inspired millions of their fans," said Friedman said in a statement.

This year's VMA nominees for "Best Video With a Message" include Pink for "F***** Perfect," Lady Gaga for "Born This Way," Katy Perry with "Firework," Eminem featuring Rihanna for "Love The Way You Lie," Rise Against for "Make It Stop (September's Children)" and Taylor Swift for "Mean."

The 2011 "MTV Video Music Awards" will air live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on August 28.
MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2011

Three big artists are ready to get the party started at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Adele, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown have all been announced as performers at the show, airing live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles next month.

This will mark the first time that Adele has graced the VMAs stage. The British chanteuse is up for seven nods for her emotional "Rolling in the Deep" video, including Best Female Artist, Best Pop Video, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Editing and the night's big prize, Video of the Year.

Brown will return to the stage, after making his unforgettable VMA debut back in 2007. His eye-popping video for "Look at Me Now," which features Wayne and Busta Rhymes, is up for multiple Moonmen at the big show, including Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Collaboration.

MTV VMA diva smackdown: Katy Perry vs. Lady Gaga

MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2012

There is only one MTV Video Music Awards category in which the pop diva who dominates this year's competition with nine nominations (Katy Perry) squares off against the one who swept the kudofest last year with eight wins (Lady Gaga): best female video.

Never mind the speculation over why Lady Gaga isn't nominated opposite Perry in the other races (87% of respondents to our poll believe there's an MTV conspiracy against her). Let's focus on just this contest, in which Lady Gaga is nominated for "Born This Way" and Perry is up for "Firework."

Who'll win? Or do you think there's any chance that the other nominees might pull off a victory and squash the dueling divas -- Adele ("Rolling in the Deep"), Beyonce ("Run the World (Girls)") and Nicki Minaj ("Super Bass")?

Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski wrote in an open letter on Monday that he stands with Rogan, who is facing blowback for COVID-19 vaccine misinformation on his show and his past use of racial slurs. “We stand with you, your guests, and your legion of fans in desire for real conversation,” Pavlovski said in his letter. Joe Rogan Offered $100 million to bring Show to Rumble Video Platform (1)“So we’d like to offer you 100 million reasons to make the world a better place. How about you bring all your shows to Rumble, both old and new, with no censorship, for 100 million bucks over four years?” he added. “This is our chance to save the world. And yes, this is totally legit,” Pavlovski said. Joe Rogan Offered $100 million to bring Show to Rumble Video Platform Rogan signed an exclusive deal with Spotify in 2020 that was reportedly worth more than $100 million and included the show’s library dating back 11 years. The former host of the TV reality series “Fear Factor” has been the center of controversy in recent weeks, forcing Spotify to defend the lucrative relationship.

Spotify won't be 'silencing' Joe Rogan amid controversy: CEO 'We don't change our policies based on one creator'

Spotify founder and CEO Daniel Ek addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding his platform's relationship with podcast titan Joe Rogan during the company's earnings call on Wednesday, as investors weigh the listening service's balancing act between allowing freedom of expression from creators and outside pressures to crack down on "misinformation." Dr. Robert Malone is the inventor of the nine original mRNA vaccine patents, which were originally filed in 1989 (including both the idea of mRNA vaccines and the original proof of principle experiments) and RNA transfection. Joe Rogan Vaccines Spotify Musicians Remove Music [caption id="attachment_4337" align="alignleft" width="300"]Joe Rogan Offered $100 million to bring Show to Rumble Video Platform Joe Rogan Offered $100 million to bring Show to Rumble Video Platform[/caption] Dr. Malone, has close to 100 peer-reviewed publications which have been cited over 12,000 times. Since January 2020, Dr. Malone has been leading a large team focused on clinical research design, drug development, computer modeling and mechanisms of action of repurposed drugs for the treatment of COVID-19. Dr. Malone is the Medical Director of The Unity Project, a group of 300 organizations across the US standing against mandated COVID vaccines for children. He is also the President of the Global Covid Summit, an organization of over 16,000 doctors and scientists committed to speaking truth to power about COVID pandemic research and treatment. “Do you really think it’s a coincidence that days after Neil Young’s music was pulled off of Spotify he debuts a 4-month free trial to any person who wants to sign up for Amazon music — who has struggled to gain market share and has long-standing connections with all of the big money people in the game?” Joe Rogan in an Instagram video Monday addressed the growing controversy surrounding his podcast — “The Joe Rogan Experience” — telling fans he’s not interested in talking to people who have only one perspective. He also said he has a problem with the term “misinformation.” Joe Rogan Offered $100 million to bring Show to Rumble Video Platform Rogan’s statement came as the streaming platform Spotify on Sunday announced new rules designed to “combat” the spread of COVID “misinformation” on its platform. The new rules came after a handful of musicians, including Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen’s guitarist Nils Lofgren and Joni Mitchell, pulled their music catalogs from Spotify, in an effort to force Spotify to choose between their music or Rogan’s podcast. Author Brené Brown also joined the protest, stating she won’t release new episodes of her Spotify-exclusive podcasts “until further notice.” Spotify last week agreed to remove Young’s music. “We have detailed content policies in place and we’ve removed over 20,000 podcast episodes related to covid-19 since the start of the pandemic,” a Spotify spokesperson told The Washington Post in a statement. “We regret Neil’s decision to remove his music from Spotify, but hope to welcome him back soon.” Saagar Enjeti, Washington correspondent at The Hill, said there could be more going on behind the scenes. Investment firms who own the music catalogs — and who also have ties to pharmaceutical companies — may be calling the shots. “The people speaking out may be doing so organically, but it also happens to coincide with the financial or oligarchic interests of some very, very rich people,” Enjeti said in a “Breaking Points” episode that took a “deep dive into the hedge funds behind the campaign by Neil Young and others to cancel Rogan and boost other music services such as Amazon music.” Rogan, Spotify’s star podcaster, signed a $100 million deal in 2020, giving the streaming service exclusive rights to his show. The podcast, available only on Spotify, reached No. 1 globally last year, the company said last month. Joe Rogan Vaccines Spotify Musicians Remove Music

What used to be misinformation, now accepted as fact

According to Rogan’s 10-minute video, his podcast was accused of “spreading dangerous misinformation,” citing specifically his interviews with Dr. Peter McCullough and one with Dr. Robert Malone.” Rogan said: “Dr. Peter McCullough is a cardiologist and he’s the most published physician in his field in history. Dr. Robert Malone owns nine patents on the creation of mRNA vaccine technology and is at least partly responsible for the creation of the technology that led to mRNA vaccines. “Both these people are very highly credentialed, very intelligent, very accomplished people and they have an opinion that’s different than the mainstream narrative. I wanted to hear what their opinion is. “I had them on and because of that those episodes, in particular, those episodes were labeled as being dangerous, they had dangerous misinformation in them.” Rogan said the issue he has with the term “misinformation” is that “many of the things we thought of as misinformation just a short while ago are now accepted as fact.” Rogan explained: “For instance, eight months ago if you said if you get vaccinated you can still catch COVID and you can still spread COVID, you would be removed from social media. They would ban you from certain platforms. Now that’s accepted as fact. “If you said, I don’t think cloth masks work, you would be banned on social media. Now that’s openly, repeatedly stated on CNN. “If you said, I think it’s possible that COVID-19 came from a lab, you would be banned from many social media platforms. Now, that’s on the cover as Newsweek.” Rogan said all of those theories that “at one point in time” were banned, were openly discussed by McCullough and Malone who were accused of spreading dangerous misinformation. Rogan said he wanted to make the video because he feels “people have a distorted perception” of what he does. “I’m not trying to promote misinformation,” Rogan said. “I’m not trying to be controversial. I’ve never tried to do anything with this podcast other than just talk to people and have interesting conversations.” Are Amazon and Hedge Funds trying to cancel Rogan? [video width="1280" height="720" mp4="https://organicbodycleanse.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/The-Puppet-Masters-Portfolios.mp4"][/video] In a video posted Jan. 31 on YouTube, Enjeti said there is more than meets the eye when it comes to musicians like Young pulling their catalogs from Spotify. “The original impetus for Neil Young’s demand was a letter he posted on social media saying Spotify could either have Neil Young or Joe Rogan, but that letter was almost immediately deleted after it was posted,” Enjeti said. “Who is demanding this? Enjeti asked. “Is it Neil Young or is it the people who own his music?” Enjeti explained: “You see a recent trend in the music business it that iconic artists such a Neil Young sell their catalogs to big-money groups who then reap the profits in perpetuity. Young actually sold his catalog in Jan. 2021 to a company called Hipgnosis. Now Hipgnosis is a $1 billion company that recently announced an ownership agreement with Blackstone.” Enjeti said Blackstone is focused on taking over single-family housing and turning America into a nation of renters, but it also has interests everywhere. “Blackstone, BlackRock and these big private equity giants are ruthless in their pursuit of profits and they’re savvy political players who know how to play the game,” Enjeti said. “They have all sorts of ties to the pharmaceutical industry, including announcing the former CEO and chairman of Pfizer would be joining Blackstone as a senior advisor.” “Do you really think it’s a coincidence that days after Neil Young’s music was pulled off of Spotify he debuts a 4-month free trial to any person who wants to sign up for Amazon music — who has struggled to gain market share and has long-standing connections with all of the big money people in the game?” Enjeti asked. “Open your eyes to see possibilities you may not have imagined,” Enjeti said. “At first it was simple, just Neil Young taking a stand.” Now a lot of people with big money and a big agenda who would just so happen to profit if Rogan went down are speaking out, Enjeti added. “Joni Mitchell has come out and said she is going to stand in solidarity with Neil Young.” Mitchell on Sept. 13, 2021, struck a publishing deal with Reservoir Media, Inc. (RMI). The top 10 owners of RMI are large private equity and investment firms. Lofgren, who on Jan. 30 announced he was joining fellow musicians Mitchell and Young in their Spotify boycott, also does not own his music catalog. Lofgren’s catalog was purchased on Dec. 16, 2021, by Sony Entertainment. The top 10 owners of Sony Group Corp. are large investment firms. Enjeti said: “You give into the mob, you give them an inch, they will keep coming. Will Spotify really be able to withstand up to the pressure? Who knows? Principles are not going to save you in this instance. Only money will.” Enjeti said people better hold on to their seats and “hope that Joe prevails on this one,” as he is up against more powerful interests than many realize. New Spotify rules don’t define ‘misinformation’ As part of its new rules, Spotify said it would add a content advisory to any podcast episode discussing COVID amid accusations it was allowing misinformation to spread on its platform. The advisory will direct listeners to a “dedicated COVID-19 Hub,” which is described as a “resource that provides easy access to data-driven facts, up-to-date information as shared by scientists, physicians, academics and public health authorities around the world, as well as links to trusted sources.” Spotify said this is the first content advisory of its kind and will roll out in the next few days. The streaming giant also announced it will begin testing ways to highlight its platform rules to raise awareness around “what’s acceptable” and to help creators understand their accountability for the content they post on the platform. The statement did not say who determines what is and is not misinformation and what is considered a “trusted source.” Rogan said he supports Spotify putting a disclaimer on controversial podcasts about COVID and encouraging listeners to speak to their physicians.
